ACROSS THE UNIVERSE
For the third semester we had to create a game inspired by the keyword "air". Across the Universe is an open-world adventure, where you follow our alien main character, Blob through space. Guided by an AI-Computer System named KILES, you explore different planets, fix your spaceship and hope to find KILES' homeplanet.

Teamsize: 9 people
Duration: 4 months
My task: UI-Design,
Conceptart, Storyboard
Because the game is set in space it was important to have a theme-fitting UI Design. I reserached a lot and after creating the Onepager for this game, I had a vague idea where I wanted to go with the design.

I started by making a list of things that the player needs to see on screen, such as how much air they have left, how much power the weapon (which kinda works like a vacuum cleaner) has and of course an inventory.
Since our weapon has different modes we also wanted to have at least two different crosshairs.
I also added a textfield for when KILES talkes to the player. Although its voice is in our language, its easier to follow its dialogue when reading it.

Additionally I created a font for this game, which created some issues tho. It was quite unreadable when used too much, that's why I decided to only use it for headlines.

Finally I did some different colour concepts for the whole UI-Design. In our prototype we chose the blue one, because it fits best to the space theme and also to the level. The other colour palettes are future concepts, that won't be included tho.
